Motorists have miraculously survived a major crash in which two cars were crushed between large trucks on a busy Melbourne freeway in peak morning traffic.
Footage of the scene shows smashed cars wedged between two semi-trailers on the Monash Freeway in Mulgrave.
Police believe a B-double truck travelling west on the freeway hit a car and in the aftermath, five after vehicles including another B-double truck were struck about 7.30am.
Only three people were taken to hospital, one is in a stable condition while the other two have minor injuries, an Ambulance Victoria spokesman told AAP.
