Rain dumped on Melbourne as sunny streak ends

After a blissful few sunny days in Melbourne the rain is back with a vengeance.
High chance of showers becoming less likely later this evening with northerly winds at 30 to 40km/h.
In the past 12 hours, the SES has received 321 calls for assistance from Victorians with 223 calls for trees falling down, 69 incidences of building damage and 10 calls for flooding.
Since 9am, 9.2mm has fallen at Tullamarine, there’s been 8.6mm in Moorabbin while another 12.2mm was dumped on the Yarra Valley
